21 People Have Died From Lightning Strikes Across The Country

Authorities are revealing that at least 21 people have died from lightning strikes across the country since the onset of rains in October.

The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) has revealed that during the period it recorded 166 injuries from lightning strikes.

So far, a total of 12,031 houses have been affected by various disasters and DoDMA has reached out to 10,910 households with relief assistance.

Recently, during the night of 16th December, flash floods hit some parts of Mangochi, where a total of 144 households, mostly around Makawa in T/A Mponda, were affected.
