Man found with female private part

Police in Mzimba are keeping in custody a 36-year-old man, Moses Phiri of Andileya Village in the area of Traditional Authority (TA) M’mbelwa for allegedly being found with a human female private part.

Deputy Spokesperson for Mzimba Police, Sub Inspector John Nyirongo said Police officers arrested Phiri on Wednesday following a tip off from well-wishers.

He said Police got a tip from well wishers that the suspect was keeping a human female part at his premises.

“Following the tip- off, we went and searched the suspect’s premises where we found a human tissue wrapped in a plastic paper together with national identification card of a suspected woman who was murdered by her husband on the night of November 15 and 16, 2020,” Nyirongo said.

He added that the suspect was immediately arrested and the Police officers were led to a graveyard of the deceased, whose national identification card was in possession of the suspect was in plastic paper and found out that the graveyard was tampered.

“We found the grave tempered with and took the human tissue for a medical examination and results revealed that it was a human female private part,” the Deputy Spokesperson said.

Nyirongo said the suspect was taken for psychiatric test at the same hospital where it was established that Phiri is a psychiatric patient who cannot stand trial.

“The suspect accompanied by his relatives would be referred to Zomba Mental Hospital for medical attention,” he added.
