United Transformation Movement (UTM) has appointed Frank Mwenifumbo as its publicity Secretary to replace Dr. Joseph Chidanti Malunga who retired from politics last year.
UTM’s National Executive Committee (NEC) made the appointments which are effect January 9, 2021.
Mwenifumbo through his Facebook page accepted the appointment while thanking those congratulating him on his appointment.
“I was busy transplanting rice in the paddies when I heard of my appointment as a publicity Secretary for the mighty UTM. Thank you all for the hearty congratulatory messages to me,” Mwenifumbo said.
The position of Publicity Secretary fell vacant after Chidanti Malunga announced that he wants to go back to his teaching profession.
Before joining politics, Chidanti Malunga was a lecturer at Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) adding that he took a holiday in absentia and that it was over.
Apart from Mwenifumbo, Catherine Mzumara has been appointed as the National Director of Research for the party and Rabson Chihaula Shaba has been appointed as the member of the National Executive.
