MRA suspends ‘Kuiphula ndi Lisiti Langa’ campaign

Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) has with immediate effect suspended the newly launched ‘Kuiphula ndi Lisiti Langa’ campaign.

This has been confirmed in a statement posted on MRA official facebook page seen by this publication.

“The Kuiphula ndi Lisiti Langa campaign has been suspended indefinitely due to the escalating cases of COVID-19,” reads in part the statement.

Last week MRA launched the campaign with an aim of encouraging voluntary tax compliance where Value Added Tax (VAT) registered traders consistently issue correct EFD receipts.

The campaign was expected to run for a period of three months, commencing on 11th January, 2021 and ending on 31st March, 2021.
