At least 20 health workers in Dowa have tested positive for the global pandemic Coronavirus.
Following the positive cases registered, officials from Dowa District Health Office (DHO) are this morning disinfecting government offices.
Dowa District Senior Health Surveillance Assistant supervisor Peter Dzimkambani says the fumigation exercise is aimed at preventing the further spread of the coronavirus.
Cumulatively, 20 health workers have been confirmed Covid-19 positive in the district.
So far, over 200 people have died from the virus, including two cabinet ministers Sidik Mia and Lingson Belekanyama who died yesterday.
Meanwhile Malawi has over 9000 confirmed positive cases of Coronavirus.
