New Mk1,000 bank note now in circulation

Information sourced by faceofmalawi indicate that the new Mk1,000 banknote is now in full circulation.
The upgraded bank note aims at improving security of the K1, 000 which has been a victim of counterfeits.
According to Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) Director of Currency Management, Joseph Milner, yesterday the bank offloaded notes worth K649 million.
The new bank note has an improved spark live (fish shaped), security thread, watermark, roughness and holographic foil stripe.
