A middle-aged man in Kenya has been arrested after he conspired with his wife to escape from hospital, leaving behind their newborn child.
Jacob Onsare’s wife, Victoria Wambui, had just delivered a son on Thursday, though prematurely, when the two escaped from the private medical facility, where the new mother had been admitted to.
Confirming the incident, area chief Edward Moenda suggested the couple could have run away to avoid footing the accrued medical bill.
Onsare was later Thursday arrested and taken to a Police Station, where he is being detained.
His wife’s whereabouts remain unclear.
