A 28-year-old woman is reported dead in Phalombe District after being struck by lightning.

Deputy Police Publicist for Phalombe, Jimmy Kapanja has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press and identified the deceased as Violet Goliath.

According to Kapanja, the deceased met her fate when she went to the garden and she died on the spot.

Goliath hailed from Makawa Village in the area of Senior Chief Chiwalo in the district.
