Namibia – A 59-year-old man from a village in the ﹰOshikoto region was arrested on Monday after he allegedly assaulted and killed his 89-year-old uncle with a spade.
According to Oshikoto police regional commander, commissioner Armas Shivute, the incident happened at Onesigo village in the Okankolo area.
“It’s alleged that the suspect and deceased were fixing a kraal and a short argument about an axe erupted between them. The suspect then beat the deceased with a spade in the face and he died at the scene,” Shivute said.
He said the deceased has been identified as Lazarus Hendjala.
It is not clear whether the suspect has appeared in court or not.
