Neno District Covid-19 Relief Fund, a grouping of communities and people working or living in Neno District, through a WhatsApp Group, managed to raise funds and donated Ambulance tyres, tubes and gutters to Neno District Hospital worth MK 1.2 million.
A member of the group, Russel Msiska, said it was created to respond and mobilise funds after being moved by the degree at which Covid-19 affected Neno district.
He emphasized that their mandate to assist goes beyond Covid-19.
He said this while handing over the donation to Neno District Health Office.
Neno DHO Head Driver, Alfred Moses thanked the grouping for the donation.
He said Neno District has 15 health facilities and serves a population of over 190, 000.
He therefore urged other individuals and organisations to emulate the goodwill.
He said the gesture by the citizens of Neno must be commended.
