Primary School teacher arrested for defiling Standard 8 girl in Mulanje

Police in Mulanje have arrested a 38-year-old Primary School teacher, Isaac Mussah, for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old Standard Eight girl.
Mulanje Police spokesperson, Gresham Ngwira, says the victim told Police that on the evening of Thursday, March 18, 2021, she drew a picture resembling one of the pupils at the school.
This prompted the suspect, who is also a boarding master, to summon her to the staff room to advise on her on the matter.
“Surprisingly, the suspect undressed the girl and defiled her while other students observed from a distance since the lights were on.
“When school management learnt about this, they informed the victim’s father who later reported to Police who arrested him over the weekend,” Ngwira said.
He will appear in court to answer a charge of defilement.
