Officials at Malawi Defence Force have urged the government to establish a permanent water treatment plant so that soldiers can access potable water in Phalombe camp.
This was discussed yesterday with the deputy minister of defence Jean Sendeza in Phalombe camp.
CommandantÂ for the Camp , CaptainÂ ChikumbutsoÂ Mataka saidÂ that they areÂ usingÂ ways which are notÂ sustainable to treatÂ water which isÂ tappedÂ direct from the river .
He had said a development has described as a risky to the lives of the soldiers.
