FLOODS DISPLACED PEOPLE IN CHINTHECHE

Almost one hundred families have been displaced in Nkhata-bay district more especially in Chintheche due to heavy rainfall which resulted into floods.

People have been rendered destitute after their houses; crops and property have been damaged and swept away by floods yesterday in Chintheche

Councillor for Chintheche Ward, Spencer Khuni  this morning said that one fuel pump station , rest houses , houses  crops around  Chinthechi have been affected .

Meanwhile, Secretary to the Nkhata Bay chief’s Council, T/A Nyaluwanga says chiefs will take advantage of a full council meeting today to enforce interventions to avert more damage.
