Abusive Man Assaults Wife For Denying Him Roasted Meat

In a suspected case of domestic violence, a soldier stationed in Bulawayo allegedly assaulted his wife and violently destroyed pots and plates in a fit of rage after she refused to give him roasted meat.

Lucia Muleya (36) who lives in Entumbane suburb was washing her plates and pots at around 4.30 PM last week on Saturday when her husband Umulina Mwembe (39) assaulted her.

According to a source privy to the incident, Mwembe arrived in a huff and demanded money to buy beer from his wife.

Lucia, who is a meat vendor, gave him $160.

The source revealed that he further demanded meat that Lucia sells, but she refused to give him. However, this did not sit well with him as he grabbed his wife by the throat and assaulted her with open hands.

After assaulting her, as if that was not enough,  he picked the plates she was washing and smashed them on the ground leaving them in pieces and he also destroyed the pots while shouting obscenities at her.

Lucia who has had enough of her husband’s abuse dashed to a police station and made a report, B-Metroreports.

Narrating her ordeal at the police station, Lucia said she had suffered enough at the hands of her husband who always gets violent whenever he is drunk.
