Dedza Police OC Warns Herbalists

Dedza Police Officer-in-Charge, George Tobias Chikhungu, has warned herbalists against naming people suspected of bewitching others

Chikhungu said, the tendency is fueling a rise in cases of mob justice as relations of a perceived victim of witchcraft want to revenge.

Vice president of Malawi traditional healers, Beatrice Kaluwa, says their group is guided by a code of conduct that prohibits naming.

This was disclosed yesterday at an interface between the police and herbalists in Dedza.
