MUST Student Who Graduated With Distinction Dies In Car Accident

Graduated student for the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) who passed with a distinction Isha Senga has died in car accident in Ntcheu, police confirmed.

Ntcheu Police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu said Senga aged 26, died Wednesday afternoon after the vehicle she was travelling in overtuned at Biwi are, along Balka Ntcheu M1 road.

Tarsizio Nkhoma, 28, was driving a motor vehicle, Toyota Atenza saloon, registration number BY 8379, from the direction of Balaka heading towards Ntcheu with three passengers onboard.

Upon arrival at the said place, he failed to negotiate a bend.

As a result, he swerved to the extreme nearside dirty verge where it overturned.

Following the impact, Senga, sustained severe head injuries.

She was pronounced dead upon arrival at Ntcheu District Hospital.

Another passenger sustained serious injuries and is admitted at the said hospital.

Two people, a passenger and the driver, escaped with minor injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, Tarsizio Nkhoma, hails from Mwachande village, Traditional Authority Machinjiri in Blantyre.

While the deceased,  Senga, hailed from Chiradzulu district.

Meanwhile, the police in the district are saddened by the death of such a young citizen through this accident.

Police continue to urge motorists to observe road regulations at all times to avoid such accidents that are robbing the nation productive citizens
