Healthy Workers In Mchinji On Strike Requesting Over Allowances

Health workers in the isolation department at Mchinji District Hospital are on strike protesting failure by management to pay overtime allowances for four months.
The workers have since petitioned the district health management team complaining that their situation has not been addressed despite reports that Capital Hill has been sending the funds through ORT.
Director of Health and Social Services, Dr. Juliana Kanyengambeta confirmed the delays of healthy workers.
Kanyengambeta said that the delay to pay out the allowances was due to the absence of an accountant at the facility.`
