MEC expresses worry over voter registrants in Nsanje Lalanje Ward

Date:

Low turnout has characterized voter registration exercise at Magoti primary school in Nsanje Lalanje ward ahead of June 29, 2021 by-elections.

Centre Supervisor, Thomas Nyamasaka, has confirmed about the exercise.

He says this morning  since the opening of the centre yesterday, they had only registered two new voters, all males.

Nyamasaka further disclosed that as of 10 am today, none had turned up for registration, blaming it on lack of civic education and alleged failure by those elected to deliver their promises.

MEC Commissioner, Arthur Nanthulu, is expected to inspect five registration centres in the ward.
