GOVT Says TUM’s COVID-19 risk allowance queries in CSTU hands

Government says it is awaiting a decision of its negotiating team with the Teachers Union of Malawi on the resumption of negotiations over the once off Covid-19 payment.

Director of Administration in the ministry of Education, James Manyetera has confirmed the development.

Manyetera says the matter was referred to the negotiating team which is closely working with the Civil Servants Trade Union ( CSTU).

Manyetera was responding to how government intends to address challenges facing the teaching profession at the start of a two day teacher’s policy conference in Lilongwe.
