Health Authorities Prepares For Second Dose Of AstraZeneca

Date:

Health authorities have highlighted that they are ready to start administering the second dose of the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine tomorrow, Thursday.

Malawi rolled out her Covid-19 vaccination programme in March and over the past two and a half months; at least 356,134 individuals have received the jab from the 512 doses that had been procured.

Recent evidence endorsed by the WHO confirms the AstraZeneca vaccine as a two-dose schedule that is more effective under a 12-week minimum interval.

Ministry of Health’s Immunization Programmes Manager, Mike Chisema, discloses that they are proceeding with the remaining serum from the 512 doses for the second phase of the mass vaccination.
