Well-known businessman Dr. Thom Mpinganjira has appealed to the Supreme Court against High Court Judge Dorothy De Gabrielle’s refusal to recuse herself in the Judge bribaery case.
Degabriele refused to recuse herself from the case, saying looking at all the processes and steps taken in the case, a reasonable person cannot see a possibility of bias.
State lead lawyer, Reyneck Matemba has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press
According to Matemba, the defense wants the highest court to declare the case null and mis-trial; thus, the whole case should restart.
The appeal case will be heard tomorrow morning in Blantyre.
