The Malawi Defense Force (MDF) says one of its officers Corporal Maxwell Nyirenda has died after a short illness at International Hospital Kampala (IHK) in Kampala, Uganda.
According to Major Emmanuel Kelvin Mlelemba (PRO-MDF), the late Corporal Nyirenda died yesterday. He was in the peacekeeping squad in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
He hailed from Chisovya Village, Traditional Authority Chikulamayembe in Rumphi and is survived by a wife and five children.
The MDF has mourned his death describing him as a fine young man who was courageous, hard-working and disciplined.
He was from Parachute Batallion in Salima.
