Government has closed the country’s borders in a wake of a surge in imported Covid-19 cases.
A key player in the tourism sector, the Malawi Tourism Council says all travelers are restricted to enter the country except for returnees and essential travelers.
Richard Mdyetseni Executive Director for Malawi Tourism Council has confirmed the development.
On his statement he said all players in the tourism sector have been advised to offer direction to their clients that are due to arrive in the country.
According to Mdyetseni, the Council is engaging relevant authorities on the possibilities of having restriction policies that will however not harm the tourism industry as the country continues to fight the pandemic.
