Lilongwe trio arrested for stealing items worth over K2 Million

Police in Kawale have arrested three people for allegedly breaking into a building and committing a felony therein.
Kawale Police Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Mabvuto Phiri said the station through its lower formation of Area 24 Police Unit on June 23,2021 arrested the three and recovered various items like 55 inches Echo TV screen worth K 1, 300,000 ,32 inches Sumsang TV worth K150,000 ,32 inches Hisense TV worth K150,000, 42 inches Sumsang TV worth K275,000 , Subwoofers worth K 450,000 and amplifier ,3 Twitter speakers worth K75,000 all valued at K2,400,000 (Two million four hundred thousand Malawi Kwacha).
Phiri said during the sweeping exercise, Area 24 detectives met a man suspiciously carrying Plasma TV and failed to account for it.
Immediately the law enforcers arrested the man, George Ziduka ,35 who revealed his partners in crime,
Jimmy Labton ,31 and Haneck Maloko, 53.
It is alleged that the three suspects have been terrorising Areas 23 and 44 b.
“The trio will soon appear before court of law. Ziduka and Lobton hail from neighboring Villages of Kubwaila and Khongo all in Traditional Authority Mazengera in Lilongwe while Maloko hails from Naliya Village in the area of Traditional Authority Majombe in Phalombe,” concluded Phiri .
