Ntchisi District Education Office has commended Non Governmental Organizations for helping in the promotion of education in the district.
Primary Education Advisor for Boma Zone, Anne Chazema said initiatives have helped a lot in fulfilling government’s goals of ensuring that every child attends primary education.
Chazema disclosed this during Mervis Maigwa Mwana Aphunzire Initiative launch at Makanda Primary School in Ntchisi district.
Mervis Maigwa Mwana Aphunzire Initiative is a non-governmental organization helping in improving learner’s performance in primary schools by providing them with exercise books, pens and uniforms among other things.
“Besides having teachers and classroom blocks, there is need for other interventions beyond that like the one being launched by Miss Maigwa, a thing which our office does not take for granted,” Chazema said.
Member of Parliament for Ntchisi South, Ulemu Chilapondwa donated assorted items towards the initiative during the launch.
