Polygamous man kills 70-year-old neighbour for preying on his wife at night

A 40-year-old man in Kenya is being held at a local Police Station for allegedly beating and killing his 70-year-old neighbour who was preying on one of his three wives.

Stephen Adungosi, the suspect, says the deceased had a romantic affair with his wife for some time before he caught him.

He says the victim visited his house on the fateful day, opened the door and entered straight to his bedroom not knowing that he was inside.

“I went to sleep around 10 pm. Around 11 pm, I heard someone touching the windows of my house and after 15 minutes he stretched his hands and opened the door. He entered the house and walked straight to the bedroom. I jumped out of my bed and confronted him.”

“I got hold of him and a push and pull ensued, as I tried to switch on the lights, he was struggling to open the door to escape. In the process, I hit him on the head two times and when he was trying to escape, I hit his legs and he fell on the ground and began introducing himself,” Adungosi told the police.

The suspect says he parked his motorbike on a different homestead to trick the deceased.

Adungosi adds that the deceased might have a regular visitor judging by his ability to open the door of his house with ease.

He also revealed that he has been complaining to the Area Chief over the matter before he caught the suspect at his house.

Neighbours say they heard loud screams from Adungosi’s home and upon arrival, they found the victim dead.

“My wife woke me up at night and told me to hear what was going on. When I heard of the loud bang I went out to check what the matter was. We found that he had already killed the man and even called the assistant chief and police officers,” one of the neighbours told K24 Digital.
