94-Year-Old Grandmother Fulfills Her Dream Of Wearing A Wedding Dress After 70 Years

In 1952, Martha Mae Ophelia Moon, living in Alabama (USA), and Lehman Tucker Sr. officially joined the same roof. Moon was only 25 years old back then. Although she could walk with her beloved across the aisle, she could not fully enjoy happiness on the day of their wedding.

Society halted her from a simple joy

In Martha Tucker’s younger years, racism was an alarming issue in America. People of color at that time were still stuck in a circle of unreasonable prejudices and injustices.

For example, wedding dresses were also divided into two types: gorgeous white dresses for Caucasian brides, and regular colored dresses for brides of color.

Martha Tucker in the wedding dress she always dreamed of.

Mrs. Tucker was no exception. She wore a blue fishtail dress but could not spark a smile as she, like any bride, was holding on to the dream of a pure white dress.

Her offsprings made her dream come true

Later, after learning of the story, her descendants gathered together and determined to help her fulfill her lifelong wish. They assigned each other to find wedding dress shops and even hired a pro makeup artist for her.

Putting on the makeup look for her important session.

Fixing her mind on THE dress, she looked at herself in the mirror and a genuinely happy smile sparked on the face that is deeply imprinted with the traces of time. Her children and grandchildren surrounded her and everyone was moved to tears.

In an interview with ABC News, Mrs. Tucker tearfully shared: “I LOOKED IN THE MIRROR AT MYSELF WANTING TO KNOW WHO IS THAT,” TUCKER SAID. “YEAH, I WAS VERY EXCITED! I FELT GREAT! I TOLD YA, IT FELT JUST LIKE I WAS GETTING MARRIED!”

Everyone around was just as happy as her.

The touching video of Mrs. Tucker trying on her first wedding dress at the age of 94 attracted more than 1 million views on Twitter.

Netizens constantly expressed their overwhelming emotions at the image of an old woman smiling brightly like a young woman in her twenties, dressing in a pure white dress.
