ESCOM Denies Awarding Contract To Businessman Zameer Karim

Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) has trashed social media rumors that the corporation has awarded a multibillion contract to businessman Zameer Karim.

According to social media allegations, ESCOM has awarded a multibillion Kwacha Energy serer bulb supply deal to Karim.

Reacting to the news, ESCOM’s Public Relations Manager Innocent Chitosi no contract of such nature was given to Karim and social media reports are baseless and untrue.

“We are not even intending to purchase energy saver bulbs anytime soon,” said Chitosi.

Businessman Zameer Karim came to the limelight for his alleged involvement in the controversial Malawi Police Food rations contract.
