Kabaza operator drops off passenger, goes after him, shoots him and steals valuables

A Kabaza rider on Tuesday night dropped off a passenger away from destiny before going after him, shot him and stole valuable items from him – the incident reportedly happened in Kenya, local publication K24Digital reports.

Samuel Mugo who lives in Gathondeki Triple 3 flats in Dagoretti told police that he was on his way from work and since it was already 10 pm he opted to board a motorbike.

Little did he know that the motorcycle rider would fail to drop him at his rented apartment, follow him after some time before stealing from him at gunpoint.

“He alleged that on Tuesday night at about 10 pm he hired a motorcyclist and was to be dropped at his home along Naivasha Road,” a police report filed on Wednesday afternoon read in part.

The motorcyclist instead dropped him at Slip Road and he decided to walk to his residence.

However, before arriving at the main gate the same motorcyclist re-appeared and robbed him he belongings.

According to the police, Mugo tried to resist and the motorcycle rider drew a firearm and shot him on his left knee.

This forced him to surrender and handed over all his belongings which include; a mobile phone and a bag that contained books.

Mugo was then rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital where he is currently recuperating.

Police visited the scene and did not manage to get any used cartridges.

Officers attached to Kabete Police Station have launched a manhunt for the suspect.
