The body of Reverend Father Moses Nkunika of the Roman Catholic’s Zomba Diocese will be laid to rest today at the Cathedral’s cemetery.
Reverend Nkunika died of COVID-19 on Sunday.
Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) Secretary-General, Reverend Father Henry Saindi has confirmed of the development.
“Burial will take place on Monday, August 2, 2021 at Zomba Cathedral Cemetery,” reads in part the statement.
The country is currently experiencing a sharp rise in COVID-19 case with Blantyre as the hotspot, according to the Ministry of Health.
Meanwhile government has urged Malawians to continue adhering to COVID-19 measures.
