A total of five people have been shortlisted for the position of the Ombudsman, faceofmalawi can reveal.
The office of the Ombudsman became vacant following the appointment of Martha Chizuma as Anti-Corruption (ACB) Director General.
According to inside source, the five are Grace Malela, Tadala Peggy Chinkwezule, Wellington Kazembe, Gloria Kalebe Namondwe and Yamikani David Kambauwa.
In total, 11 people had applied for the job.
According to Joyce Chitsulo, Chairperson of the Public Appointments Committee of Parliament, letters inviting those shortlisted for interviews are yet to be sent.
Interviews are scheduled for 11 and 12 August 2021.
