One person killed in Ntcheu road accident

One person is reported death in the accident that happened around Mlangeni area, in Ntcheu district where two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision, injuring several people in the process.

Ntcheu District Health Office spokesperson, Stella Kawalala has confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

According to Kawalala, two other people who have sustained severe injuries have been referred to Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH).

But the hospital is still keeping the total number of those injured under wraps.

The road accident involved a Toyota Hiace minibus, registration number CA 1470 and a Toyota Rush, registration number IT 8216.

Police say the Toyota Rush which was heading the direction of Ntcheu from Dedza was allegedly attempting to overtake another vehicle hence collided with the minibus and was coming the opposite direction.
