Arrested Nsanje District Council Officials Out On Police Bail

Two officials from Nsanje District Council who were arrested on the allegations that they abused funds, have been released on police bail.

Nsanje Police spokesperson Sub Inspector Agnes Zalakoma has confirmed.

The officials in question are; district council’s procurement officer, Maclean Kachali and chief public works officer, George Matambo.

They were arrested on Monday.

She said the two suspects were released on police bail on Tuesday, following instructions from the country’s graft busting body as investigations on the same are underway.

ACB Principal Public Relations Officer, Egritta Ndala, while confirming that the matter is in their hands, could not give details saying they will furnish us with the information once the Bureau is done with its investigations.
