Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema Invited a Mambwe district in Eastern Province man who cycled 600 kilometers to witness his inauguration on August 24, 2021.
The man, Patrick Mphande who is seemingly a top supporter of Hichilema and his United Party and National Development (UPND)made the headlines when he announced that he will cycle to Lusaka to see foir himself Hichilema taking the oath of the highest office.
Writing on his social media accounts, the Zambian President said that he had an inspiring moment with Mphande at his residence.
“This afternoon we shared an inspiring moment with Patrick Mphande, who cycled over 600km from Mambwe District, Eastern Province to attend our inauguration ceremony,” wrote Hichilema.
Hichilema while thanking Mphande said that it is people like him who inspires them to work hard and achieve their goals.
“People like Patrick encourage all of us to work hard to achieve our goals. Thank you Patrick; for your visit and your continued support,” he said.
