The young man is affirmed to have cut the throat of his love rival the previous night. The incident happened at the perished’s home in Sanctuary Estate on Moi South Lake Road.

The tricenarian is affirmed to have tricked the boy into his home, where the (dead) confronted the boy over claims that the kid was seeing his 32-year-old wide.

It was during the skirmish, that Kioko went after a kitchen knife and tried to stab the boy. The teen, however, overwhelmed the 32-year-old and grabbed the knife from him.

“I accidentally stabbed him in the neck while attempting to defend myself,” the suspect told police.

Peterson Njoroge, an area elder, communicated worry at the rising instances of relationship-caused death in Naivasha Town.

“In the last one year, at least five residents of Naivasha Town have been killed in love triangle cases. There’s an underlying problem in the society, which must be addressed urgently,” he said.

Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru revealed that the suspect, who had sustained wounds during the battle, was taken to hospital, and would, from there on, be charged.

Kioko’s body was taken to Naivasha Sub-County Referral Hospital funeral home.
