Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema has appointed Dr. Roma as Covid-19 advisor to the president, a development which has stirred debate among Zambians.
Dr. Roma has however been sworn in today on his newly created post.
Reacting to the news, Zambians on social media questions the role of Covid-19 advisor considering that there is a ministry responsible in handling covid-19 matters.
One user Tobey Chanda asked “The PS at the ministry of has been doing a good job why create a position for something that is already being taken care of?”
Myombe Nelson Mandela said “The guy is overexcited I guess that he doesn’t know what to do, one day you will just hear ati ndeshitisha ka Zambian flag.”
Felix Leedo Bwalya mocked “Soon we will hear HIV/AIIDS advisor to the president.”
