Ex-MCP MP Joseph Njobvuyalema denies joining Prophet David Mbewe’s political party

Former Malawi Congress Party Member of Parliament for Lilongwe Mapuyu South Joseph Njobvuyalema has denied joining the yet to be launched political grouping dubbed Freedom of Worship Association Movement (FOWAM).

Prophet David Mbewe of the Living Word Evangelistic Church (LIWEC) is set to launch the political grouping next month.

Speaking in an interview with the press Njobvuyalema trashed reports linking him to the new political grouping.

He said he still regards MCP as his mother party and harbours no plans of joining any political party or movement.

FOWAM spokesperson, Ken Nsonda maintains the grouping is interdenominational and apolitical.

Recently rumours were all over claiming that Prophet Mbewe is planning to contest for Presidency in the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) during its elective conference set for July 2023.
