Musician Flo Dee dies

Death has been announced of female musician Flo Dee, real name Florida Chinyumba.

Chinyumba died on Thursday in the eastern district of Mangochi after a short illness, according to the statement released by the family.

“Family, we are saddened to announce the death of our beloved artist Florida Chinyumba AKA Flo Dee (The owner of the page) after suffering a short illness in Mangochi.

“May her beautiful soul rest in peace,” reads in part the statement.

Various artists in the country have taken to the social media to express their sadness over the passing of Flo Dee.

Video Producer Sukez wrote: “Sad News for the art industry. Hard to believe that you are gone. Still remember the day we shot Veke Mphete music video, we will miss the Talent. RIP Flo Dee.”

Musician cum producer Yesaya Nkhwazi has described the late artist as a lovely person.

“Shocking and unbelievable…Rest in peace FLO DEE may have infinite happiness in the afterlife and may the family have immense strength to cope with this unparalleled loss,” said Nkhwazi.

Meanwhile, funeral details are not yet known.
