The body of former Member of Parliament Clement Chiwaya will be taken from Lilongwe at Goodwill Mortuary today to his home district Mangochi.
Chiwaya who also served as deputy speaker of parliament, shot himself to death yesterday at parliament building in the office of Clerk of Parliament Fiona Kalemba.
In a statement, Parliament has said that Chiwaya’s remains will be buried at Ngoyi Village in Traditional Authority Mponda in Mangochi District.
The late Chiwaya, who died yesterday, served as a Member of Parliament for Mangochi Central Constituency for three consecutive terms from 2004 to 2019.
He was elected Second Deputy Speaker during his last term in Parliament, 2014 to 2019.
