HRDC Alarmed, Calls for PAC Chairperson Shadreck Namalomba’s Resignation

The Human Rights Defenders Coalition ( HRDC ) has called for the resignation of Shadreck Namalomba as the Chairperson of PAC.
According to HRDC, the Statement by Namalomba dated 2nd October 2021 in which he is accusing and threatening the Anti Corruption Bureau ( ACB) for its decision to interview Former President Peter Mutharika, does not befit the office he holds as Chair of PAC.
HRDC has expressed shock by the DPP’s statement written by its Spokesperson Shadrec Namalomba.
Namalomba in his statement is threatening ACB for its decision to interview Peter Mutharika.
HRDC has since demanded the immediate resignation of Namalomba as Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chair.
The Coalition says the Statement written by Namalomba will seriously compromise the integrity of the August House.
The behavior of Namalomba will encourage impunity.
HRDC is reminding Namalomba that the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) is an independent body that is legally mandated to carry out its own independent investigations.
