Donald Trump has finally revealed his plans for a new social media network after being banned by the likes of Facebook and Twitter.
The former US President said his platform will be called Truth Social and it will try to rival all the big names currently available.
He will be the chairman of the new ‘Trump Media & Technology Group’, who wants to ‘fight back’ against the ‘Big Tech’ companies of Silicon Valley and the ‘liberal media consortium’.
In a statement, Trump said: “I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech.
“We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable.”
The ex-Commander in Chief was booted from Twitter, Facebook and a bunch of other platforms earlier this year after he was accused of inciting the Capitol Insurrection.
He also repeatedly spread misleading or false information about the 2020 US Election and that he beat Joe Biden.
Twitter said Trump’s ban is permanent however, after a review, Facebook said it might reinstate his profile in the coming years.
Trump revealed he wanted to start his own social media company to hit back against his permanent and temporary bans on all the big-name sites.
Twitter has Tweets, Instagram has Reels, Facebook has Stories and Truth Social will have Truths, which will be the moniker used for when a user wants to post something.
His statement added: “I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon.
“TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all. I’m excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech. Everyone asks me why doesn’t someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!”
The app is now available for pre-order on the Apple App store and a beta version will be launched next month to get users trialling the system.
It’s not expected to launch across the US until the first quarter of next year.
There will be a subscription video service on the app, which, according to a statement, will feature ‘non-woke entertainment programming, news, podcasts and more’.
