At least three people have died after being struck by lightning last night at Masuku in Mangochi.
Mangochi police spokesperson Amina Tepani Daudi has confirmed of the development.
According to Tepani, the three are as Mussah Dickson, 25, from Bula Village T/A Nsamala in Balaka, Aisha Wyson 28 and her son Sainet Wyson, 8, both from Masuku Village T/A Bwananyambi in Mangochi district.
Tepani Daudi says the three were chatting on the verandah of a house when they got struck by the lightning struck.
They were taken to Mulibwanji Mission Hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival.
They had sustained serious burn wounds.
