KENYA – The body of a 25-year-old man was on Wednesday evening found dangling inside his house at Ulamba in Siaya County.
George Ochieng Owich is said to have committed suicide after allegedly losing Ksh.1,000 belonging to the owner of a posho mill where he worked.
Area Assistant Chief Pauline Apondi Okumu said the deceased was sent by his boss to buy diesel but he lost the money, and went straight home instead of returning to work.
She said his body was discovered after his boss came to look for him at his home upon realizing that he had taken too long to return to work.
Owich’s father said that, when they found he had locked himself inside the house, they peeped through the window only to see his body hanging from the roof with a rope tied round his neck.
The body has since been moved to the Rabuor hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem as investigations commence.
