CHEFO denounces OPC vigils

The Chewa Heritage Foundation (CHEFO) has said the grouping is not part of the concerned Chewa tribe from Dowa and Ntchisi which is planning to hold a vigil at the Office of the President and Cabinet at Capital Hill in Lilongwe.

On Thursday, the social media was awash with a leaked report informing law enforcers of the planned vigils by the said grouping.

According to the statement, It was not clear what message the act will intend to pass but police were instructed “to be ready as they have not yet indicated the exact day for the vigil”.

Speaking in an interview with the press CHEFO Public Relations Officer Hendricks Chikuni said the grouping is not aware of the panned demonstrations.

Meanwhile it is not yet known as to when the grouping will be holding the vigil.
