Chewa tribe calls off vigils slatted for OPC

Stakeholders to the Chewa-Ngoni Chieftaincy wrangle meeting that was held in Dowa today have tasked Paramount Chief Lundu and Inkosi yamosi Mbelwa the 5th to look into concerns being raised by Chewas.
Village Headman Mkanthama and Senior Group Village Headman Chipeni who are among the Chewa Chiefs who planned a vigil at Capital Hill next week have since called it off.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Local Government Halima Daudi has warned a Reverend Flywel Somanje against installing traditional leaders in T/A Chiwere’s area.
Reverend Somanje has denied the allegations.
