Man Arrested for Defilement in Kasungu

Police in Kasungu have arrested a 25 year-old, Limbani Bonongwe for allegedly defiling a six-year-old girl.

According to Deputy Public relations Officer for Kasungu police, Miracle Mkozi, Bonongwe defiled the girl on November 9 this year at Kaning’a village in the district.

Mkozi continued by saying that, the mother to the victim wanted to bathe her before going to bed but she noticed fluids like sperms coming from the private parts of her daughter.

“The mother asked the daughter to  explain and  the victim told her that a certain  man gave her biscuits earlier in the afternoon and took her to a certain bush and stripped off her clothes and defiled her”, Mkozi said.

She added that the victim revealed to the parents the she knew the man and where he was staying.

The parents did not hesitate but rather went to the suspect’s house and the victim was able to identify the suspect.

The suspect was later reported to the police.

Bonongwe will appear before the court soon to answer the charge of defilement which is contrary to Section 138 of the penal code.

Bonongwe hails from Kaning’a village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Kaomba in Kasungu District.
