DPP Reacts To ConCourt Ruling

Date:

The former ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has reacted to Friday’s High Court ruling (which was sitting as the Constitution Court) where by the party was challenging June 23 fresh presidential election.

According to the party’s spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba, the ruling which dismissed its challenge, said will help in rebuilding the party ahead of the 2025 general elections.

According to Namalomba, Malawians now have strong confidence in the way DPP was governing.

He added that it is clear that the current leadership has failed Malawians as it is unable to address the challenges Malawians are current facing.

DPP was arguing that the cohort of the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) that presided over the poll was not duly appointed.

The court dismissed DPP’s elections case with costs to be paid to the Attorney General.
