Councilors Lock Lilongwe City Council Offices; Demands John Chome’s Resignation

News coming in on our news desk indicate that Lilongwe councilors led by their mayor have sealed the offices of the council’s Chief Executive Officer John Chome.

The councilors are calling for John Chome’s firing for allegedly failing to address grievances presented to his offices.

Apart from Chome, the councilors are also demanding for the firing of other senior officials from the council.

Mayor Juliana Kaduya said council staff received a letter that salaries will delay and that payment will start with lower cadre members of staff.

Chome has not been immediately available to comment.
