Mob Forces Police To Release Chamba Seller In Machinjiri

Three police officer in Machinjiri, Blantyre had rude awakening after an angry mob told them to let go off a young man whom they had arrested for allegedly selling Chamba (Indian hemp).

According to an eye witness, the police officers came at Luwanda and found the young man with ballers of the prohibited plant resulting into his arrest and they confiscated the plant.

Soon after they handcuffed the young man and placed him in a police car, an angry mob came through, surrounding the police vehicle demanding the release of the young man.

The angry mob gave the police officer two options, either to release the young man of to be manhandled.

Following the intense situation they were under, the police officers had no option but to let the young man walk free.
