Police arrest 20 for vandalizing property during Winiko Demos

Police in Lilongwe have the arrest of over 20 people who are believed to have vandalized property during Bon Kalindo’s led demonstrations last week.

According Inspector General of Police, George Kainja, it is worrisome that people were found on the wrong side of the law when demonstrations were supposed to be peaceful.

During the protests some unruly protestors started vandalizing some shops after police had fired tear gas.

Some shops and other business premises were broken into by the said protesters.
